The ministry of the Church of Jesus Christ (GKY) in Singapore was started in February 2008 by GKY Mangga Besar. It was starting with inviting the GKY congregation domiciled in Singapore to attend Prayer Meeting every two weeks on Friday evening held at the YMCA Orchard. After more than three months, the Lord’s guidance becoming more clear. Step by step of preparation to start a new church in Singapore, either registration or a search for a place of worship, were blessed by God. In May 2008, an agreement was signed with Grace (SCC) Church allowing the use of their facility to worship. June 29, 2008, the first public worship GKY Singapore began at Grace (SCC) Church.
A need for more space led GKY Singapore to buy secretariat room at Fortune Centre which contribute greatly for the development of GKY Singapore. In August 2013, GKY Singapore started to run two services at two different locations and time: 10.00 in Le Danz and 14.30 in Grace (SCC) Church, located opposite each other. A year later, the 10:00 AM service was moved to The Cathay.
After more than six years running as a "Pos" and then a "Bakal Jemaat" under GKY Mangga Besar, GKY Singapore was inaugurated by the Synod of the Church of Jesus Christ as an independent church on January 25, 2015. God calls so many people to bless and be blessed by GKY Singapore. There are too many stories and traces of God in the journey of GKY Singapore and the people there past and present. This is our story - God's story! We invite you to take part in our future story!
